WASHINGTON — Adams County Correctional Center recently named George Mister and Velma Woods as employees of the month for October 2011.

Mister serves as a unit manger and Woods as a correctional officer at the 2,567 bed facility, which is operated in partnership with Bureau of Prisons and employs a staff of 353, including professionals in security, health services, education, rehabilitation services, counseling, management and administration.

“Mister and Woods are wonderful assets to our team,” said Warden Vance Laughlin. “Both are always willing to go the extra mile for the well-being of those in our care, the benefit of our staff, and the expectations of our government partner.”
