‘Maybes’ don’t outweigh the truth

Voters have an opportunity to start a process on Tuesday that will protect the life of the unborn. Some in positions whose role is to look out for the well-being of you and me are telling us there are unintended consequences of voting for Initiative number 26.
I am writing to tell you there is an intended consequence: the protection of the fetus.
Initiative 26 does not outlaw anything; it simply declares that life begins at fertilization. Will there have to be additional legislation down the road? Probably. Isn’t this often true in other issues? Those who are troubled about the “maybes” and the “what ifs” have had 50 years to deal with these nebulous concerns. They will tell you, “I oppose abortion, but we can’t do anything about it with this initiative.” These folks will always be troubled with the “what ifs.” In the meantime approximately 60 million babies have been aborted.
I offer you the authority of the Creator who said to Jeremiah, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations,” Jeremiah 1:4-5.
You and I do not have to have a degree in medicine, biology, science, physiology or anything else to understand that life begins at fertilization.
We who understand this can vote “yes” on Tuesday.
