Listen, realize who is talking

As I was pondering over an important decision I had to make, I started conversing with God as to what to do.

Previously, God had already opened some doors and made it happen for me. But in the midst of economical downfall and people losing their jobs daily, I found myself thinking longer and harder than I usually do — or had in a long time.

For a moment, I almost caught myself doubting what God had already done for me.

Although the way had been made for me during the previous week, thoughts still lingered in my head.

I thought this is not the time to make this decision. I thought would it be wise to go ahead? So for two long days over the weekend, I found myself questioning myself.

I mean, every time I got a break from something, I began to think about my situation. So as I sat at my sibling’s house, not telling them what was on my mind, my mind kicked into overdrive.

I was thinking so hard until I had tuned out all my surroundings. Then, spiritually, I started conversing with God. As I was talking with God, he began to assure me that he had already made the way and that all I had to do was trust in him.

When I came to myself after agreeing that God had never let me down, there was a long pause, and then I heard a question being asked. When I heard the question, I recognized that it was not God I was talking with, but satan.

I recognized how he wanted me to think I was still talking with God because he joined in the conversation as if he was there all the time, listening waiting for a time to input his two cents. I soon recognized that it was satan, and not God and satan said, “What you are doing here?” And then, there was no response.

I recognized that God would not question me in a negative fashion of something of which he had already assured me. Often times, we go through life with assurance from God’s word, and somehow let satan talk us out of a blessing.

Have you ever had a sickness and God told you that you were healed; and you were healed. All the pain and symptoms were gone, but then the negative thoughts came in convincing you that you were not healed. Soon, you believed the thoughts and the pain and symptoms began to reappear.

How about someone telling you, on the phone, that you had a job and to just come in and put in an application, and then on your way to process your application, negative thought came in and convinced you that you wouldn’t be hired because of this/because of that, and when you got there, things had changed and you became insecure.

It could be anything or any kind of circumstance that God had assured you that it was done, but you allowed satan to creep in and discourage you. And that is just what he does, creep in.

God is true to his word and he tells us in his word that he will not leave us or forsake us. When God tells us yes, it’s done.

We must stand on his promises and believe that what we ask in his son’s (Jesus) name, he will provide.

So the next time you are talking with God or anyone who causes a bit of negativity to creep in your mind, recognize and know that it’s satan and that God is not a negative God.

The next time God said you are healed, believe it; you were promised a job; believe it. No matter what the case or circumstance may be, believe you have been granted a way out of your troubles.

Stand on his word even if the pain persists; even if you don’t have the criteria for the job. Believe God for what he says. Recognize with whom you are talking to and that God is true to his word and satan is a liar.
