Hey LSU Fighting Tigers alums and fans in the Miss-Lou, the Ole War Skule needs your support.
After a two-year hiatus, we are having our annual Miss-Lou LSU alumni banquet Thursday night at the Bryant Hammett Conference and Convention Center in Vidalia.
This fundraiser for the Miss-Lou alumni association scholarship fund is put on every year to raise funds for between one and three scholarships to LSU that are strictly for use by local students from the Miss-Lou that exhibit high scholastic achievement and a need for the funds.
The scholarships are awarded by our local committee in conjunction with the LSU Alumni Association.
Our guest speaker this week is Mr. Ben Love. Mr. Love is the editor and publisher of the Tiger Rag, LSU’s very popular sports periodical that covers strictly LSU sports.
Mr. Love should provide a great and accurate insight into all of LSU sports but especially a report on our highly successful football team and where the basketball, baseball and softball teams are going this year.
Tickets are available at the door, but we would like a call to one of our committee chairmen to let us know if you plan to attend so we can get an accurate head count for dinner.
That said, the event will cost $35 per person and that will include a steak dinner, and we will also have a cash bar and soft drinks.
There will also be representatives from the LSU alumni association to visit with our alums and fans, and LSU paraphernalia will be for sale, and other items will be up for auction.
We also have available gold sponsorships for $1,000 which purchases eight tickets, purple sponsorships for $500 for eight tickets and Tiger sponsorships for $250 for two tickets.
All sponsorships will receive special recognition for their support. The event will begin at 6 p.m. with a Tiger chat and cash bar.
Dinner and the program will begin at 6:30 p.m. With economic times as they are our area students really need an avenue to help with attending a quality university so close to the Miss-Lou.
So let us get out and support Louisiana State University and the Tigers and provide those much needed scholarships to our local students so they can come back to pursue a purposeful and successful career in the Miss-Lou.
It should be a roaring good time and allow us to give scholarships for the first time in two years.
