It has come to my attention that a letter to the editor written in the Opinion section of The Natchez Democrat on Sept. 9 by a man whose name is the same as mine.

The article was titled, “Drug cases not open and closed.” It was signed by Clarence Bacon, a Natchez resident.

I did not write the letter, nor give a statement to The Democrat on that or any other issue. To my knowledge, I am the only Clarence Bacon in Natchez. I live at 15 Ring Circle Drive.
