Adams County Justice Court Cases

Week of Aug. 19-25:

Jason Johnson pleaded guilty to disturbing the peace. Sentenced to 30 days jail time suspended.

Adams County Circuit Court Cases

Wednesday, Aug. 17:

Boris Ward was indicted for murder (count I), arson (count II), and attempted sexual battery (count III) on April 8, 2011. Case entered nolle prosequi.

Quentin Smith was indicted for murder (count I), arson (count II), and attempted sexual battery (count III) on April 8, 2011. Case entered nolle prosequi.

Tuesday, Aug. 16:

Christopher Young pleaded guilty to sale of a schedule II controlled substance — cocaine — on Nov. 26, 2008. Defendant violated the terms and conditions of his five years probation: rule numbered four — do not have in his possession nor use alcoholic beverages, marijuana, narcotics or other controlled substances; rule numbered 10 — do not violate any laws of the United States. Probation is revoked and the defendant must serve the remaining balance of his sentence in the Mississippi Department of Corrections.

Monday, Aug. 15:

Christopher L. Young was indicted by a grand jury of two counts of uttering a forgery on Aug. 5, 2011. On Aug. 15, his probation was revoked and he was sentenced to serve the remainder of his sentence at the Mississippi Department of Corrections. In light of the probation revocation and sentencing, this case is entered nolle prosequi and dismissed.Young was indicted by a grand jury of aggravated assault and armed robbery another case on April 8, 2011. On Aug. 15, 2011, his probation was revoked and he was sentenced to serve the remainder of his sentence at the Mississippi Department of Corrections. In light of the probation revocation and sentencing in Cause #08-KR-0231(A)-S, this case is entered nolle prosequi and dismissed.

Thursday, Aug. 4:

Travis Weems pleaded guilty to one count of Burglary of an Automobile. Sentenced to the Regimented Inmate Program with the Mississippi Department of Corrections, with the Court retaining jurisdiction for one year. The Court will withhold the felony conviction until completion of the RID Program. Must pay all court costs and a prosecution fee of $200. Pursuant to the plea agreement, the remaining counts of the indictment are dismissed.

Monday, Aug. 1:

Randerick M. Patterson pleaded guilty to armed robbery through the use of a deadly weapon, a firearm. Sentenced to 20 years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections. After serving 10 years, the remaining balance to be served on post-release supervision for 10 years, with the first five years to be formal reporting post-release supervision through the Mississippi Department of Corrections, followed by five years of informal non-reporting post-release supervision. Must pay restitution of $1,292.00, all court costs and a prosecution fee of $200.00.

Dewayne M. Young pleaded guilty to Burglary of a Dwelling. Sentenced to 15 years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections. After serving five years, the remaining 10 years to be served on post-release supervision. The first five years to be served on formal reporting post-release supervision and the remaining five years on non-reporting supervision through the Mississippi Department of Corrections. Defendant is to receive full credit for all time served in the Adams County Jail. Must pay all court costs and a prosecution fee of $200. Pursuant to the plea agreement, other charges are dismissed.

David Coleman pleaded guilty to simple robbery. Sentenced to 15 years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections. Defendant to receive credit for any time already served in the Adams County Jail. Must receive intensive drug and alcohol rehabilitation and treatment by the Mississippi Department of Corrections.

Travis Weems was indicted by a grand jury for burglary of a church on April 8, 2011. He pleaded guilty to burglary of an automobile and was sentenced accordingly. In light of the plea of guilty and sentencing and per agreement with the defendant, this case is entered nolle prosequi and dismissed.

Natchez Municipal Court Cases

Friday, Aug. 19:

Jason Lorenzo Fulton, 32, found guilty of disturbing the peace – domestic violence after trail. Sentenced to 30 days with 29 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. To serve 24 hours in jail. Fine set at $644.

Glendale D. Jones, 30, pleaded guilty to disturbing the peace. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $344.

Nathaniel C. Jones III, 22, pleaded guilty to carrying a concealed weapon. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $444.

Takarri Thamora Wallace, 35, charged with malicious mischief. Case dismissed — complainant, Constance Craig, failed to appear. Wallace, charged with simple assault — attempt to create fear. Case dismissed — complainant, Constance Craig, failed to appear. Bench warrant issued for Constance Craig for failure to appear on served subpoena.

Dannie Brinkley, 50, pleaded guilty to public drunkenness. Sentenced to 10 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Credit given for four days and $100 for time served. Fine set at $194.

Alan R. Byrd, 28, pleaded guilty to disturbing the peace by fighting. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $344.

Stephen P. Dillon, 22, pleaded guilty to disturbing the peace by fighting. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $344.

James A. Jackson Jr., 22, pleaded guilty to shoplifting – 1st offense. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $444.

Natasha L. Letcher, 27, pleaded guilty to disturbing the peace. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $344.

Ricardo McNealy, 33, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor false information. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $394.

Travis G. Sutton, 18, pleaded guilty to shoplifting – 1st offense. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $444.

Monday, Aug. 22:

Davarius J. Clemons, 19, charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana. Case dismissed – two other defendants took responsibility and pleaded guilty and at recommendation of officers.

Cindy Lynn Smith, 30, found not guilty after trail of disturbing the peace. Smith was also found guilty of misdemeanor false information. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $394.

Larry E. Smith, 21, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor possession of marijuana. Driver’s license suspended for six months. Fine set at $539.

Gerald V. West, 58, pleaded guilty to DUI 1st offense test results. Sentenced to 48 hours suspended. Fine set at $730 West was also charged with possession of marijuana while operating a motor vehicle. Case remanded to files in consideration of guilty plea and waiver of appeal.

Kenneth J. Carver Jr., 20, charged with petit larceny. Case remanded to files.

Henry L. Foster Sr., 55, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor false pretense. Sentenced to 30 days to run concurrently for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $429.35.

Ronald C. Johnson, 19, charged with petit larceny. Case remanded to files.

Keyante L. Wiley, 18, charged with petit larceny. Case remanded to files.

Eddie Lee Holmes Jr. pleaded guilty to simple assault – domestic violence. Sentenced to 30 days with 29 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. To serve 24 hours in jail. Fine set at $594.

Delandro Bell pleaded guilty to disturbing the peace – domestic violence. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $444.

Schweida Bell pleaded guilty to amended charge of disturbing the peace – domestic violence. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $494.
