Copiah-Lincoln Natchez hires math instructor

NATCHEZ — Amanda H. Hood of Utica has been hired as mathematics instructor at Copiah-Lincoln Community College’s Natchez campus.
Hood earned her associate’s degree with highest honors at Copiah-Lincoln’s Wesson campus, and her bachelor’s degree in foreign language and international trade and a master’s in education at Mississippi College in Clinton, where she is currently enrolled in Master of Science in mathematics degree program and the education specialist degree program.
Hood has taught trigonometry, pre-calculus, calculus, geometry and Spanish at Hillcrest Christian School in Byram, and developmental mathematics part-time at Hinds Community College in Raymond.
Hood has also coached junior and varsity tennis teams at Hillcrest, where she received the “Above and Beyond Teacher” award in 2008.
Off campus, Hood enjoys playing piano, running and traveling. She is a member of Pine Bluff Baptist Church in Dentville where she and her husband Charles help operate Hood Farms cattle farm.
