NATCHEZ — At least one person was transported to the hospital late Friday night after a one-car accident at the intersection of Seargent S. Prentiss and Highland Boulevard.
The accident occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m., leaving a gold-in-color van on its side in the middle of Highland Boulevard right between Go-Mart and Natchez Ford.
Natchez Police Chief Mike Mullins said the van was traveling south on Seargent S. Prentiss when the accident occurred.
Mullins had few details by press time, but said one person had to be extracted from the vehicle using the Jaws of Life.
The roof of the van appeared to have been removed entirely. At least one other person was in the vehicle, possibly two, Mullins said.
A large crowd of onlookers gathered in the Go-Mart parking lot and street after the accident occurred.
