NATCHEZ — A man involved in a state drug investigation reportedly turned himself into the Adams County Sheriff’s Office Monday.
Kevin Napoleon Singleton, 34, 245 River Terminal Road, was charged with possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and receiving stolen property.
Local law enforcement reportedly seized last week 2.2 pounds of cocaine, a pound of marijuana and more than $1,600 from two residences with which Singleton is believed to be associated.
Sheriff Chuck Mayfield said the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office is handling the drug charges.
He said the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics helped his office and the Metro Narcotics Unit with the investigation.
The local charges were brought against Singleton after deputies recovered stolen property and a Smith and Wesson .357 Magnum revolver with the serial number scratched off during the searches.
One of the residences searched is believed to be where Singleton usually lives, and the other is what Mayfield referred to as a “drop house,” for drug operations.
