NATCHEZ — A Natchez Bus Terminals bus was stopped for approximately an hour and a half in Vicksburg so bomb dogs could inspect it after a woman called in a bomb threat Wednesday, Natchez Police Capt. Tom McGehee said.
At approximately 2 p.m, the female, who only identified herself by “Carrie” or “Kerry” told a Natchez Bus Terminals employee that a bomb would be on the bus heading toward Baton Rouge, according to a Natchez Police Department report.
No bomb was found, and McGehee said he doesn’t know why the woman called in the threat. It was also unclear whether the caller meant the bomb would already be on the bus or would be put on the bus in Natchez, the report states.
Lt. Craig Godbold said NPD has turned the matter over to the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation.
