Assistance available for livestock, land

NATCHEZ — The recent Mississippi River flood has caused severe damage to agricultural land situated in the low lying areas along the river.
Farms suffering severe damages may be eligible for assistance under the Emergency Conservation Program administered by the Adams County Farm Service Agency Office.
Application signup end Aug. 15.
A livestock Forage Program, administered by the Farm Service Agency, provides assistance to eligible commercial livestock producers that have suffered grazing losses due to drought.
Adams, Franklin, Jefferson and Wilkinson counties are amoung 25 counties in Mississippi determined eligble for 2011 LFP.
The deadline to apply for 2011 LFP is Jan. 30, 2012.
