NATCHEZ — As August approaches, brightly colored campaign signs have started sprouting from lawns countywide to lure residents to the polls for summer primaries.

A public forum from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the Natchez Convention Center will allow voters get to know the men and women behind the political lawn ornaments, most of whom will be on a ballot in the Aug. 2 primaries.

The forum, hosted by the Natchez-Adams Chamber of Commerce, will give candidates running for local offices a few minutes to answer questions submitted by the public and share their platforms.
