Natchez native elected GPD regional director

NATCHEZ — An installation ceremony was March 11 in Pelham, Ala., for incoming regional officers of the Gamma Phi Delta Sorority Inc. Natchez native Shirley Carey, who lives in Ridgeland, was elected assistant regional director. Carey is a chartered member of the Jackson-based Delta Alpha graduate chapter of Gamma Phi Delta Sorority Inc.
“I am looking forward to leading various projects and continuing the service, sisterhood and Gamma Phi Delta’s commitment to serving the community,” Carey said, who is the outgoing president.
The Gamma Phi Delta Sorority Inc is an organization with more than 68 years of service and sisterhood of distinguished, congenial business and professional women who through our talents and qualities, provide aid and cultivate higher scholastic and ethical standards while providing social and recreational outlets and implementing enrichment programs for youth.
