LORMAN — Alcorn State University School of Business student Cynitresse S. Carter of Natchez received an internship with Edward Jones Investments in St. Louis.

Carter is the daughter of Leon Gilmer Sr. of Shreveport, La., and Rhonda R. Jones of Natchez.

Carter is a graduate of Natchez High School. She was the recipient of several awards during the 2008-2009 academic year, including the Walter Washington scholarship and National Coalition of 100 Black Women Scholarship.

Carter took part in a number of activities at Alcorn State University, including OFC Innovation and Entrepreneurship programs business plan competitions and the Ethics Week Project where she gave a survey of the Most Ethical Companies to the student body. She also volunteered 15 hours at the Natchez Stewpot.
