NATCHEZ — The second day of a closed hearing requested by Natchez-Adams School District Superintendent Anthony Morris was conducted from 9 a.m. to approximately 4 p.m. Wednesday.
The hearing will continue on May 11, 12 and 13, NASD School Board Attorney Bruce Kuehnle said.
The hearing is expected to continue for at least two more days, and the third date was scheduled in the event that an additional, or fifth, day of proceedings is necessary, Kuehnle said.
Morris requested the hearing after the NASD school board voted at its Jan. 20 meeting not to renew his contract, which expires June 30 of this year.
Kuehnle said it is the right of Morris, like any licensed employee of the state, to request a hearing urging reconsideration of the termination of his contract.
