NATCHEZ — The Natchez Police Department arrested a suspect in New Orleans last week for aggravated assault and armed robbery in connection to a Dec. 27 incident in the Stewpot parking lot.
The arrest was made as part of a recent collaboration with the Louisiana State Police and FBI, Natchez Police Chief Mike Mullins said.
Jerald K. Davis, 17, 11 Fifth St., was arrested on charges of aggravated assault and armed robbery.
NPD officers responded to a report of a gunshot victim at Natchez Regional Medical Center after the December incident.
The victim, Tavarknee Good, said in a police report he was shot when he pulled into parking lot in his 1996 Cadillac Seville and two suspects walked up to his car and shot at him and the car’s passenger while they sat in the car.
Good was shot in the femur after the suspects reportedly asked him repeatedly, “Where are the drugs,” and Good replied that he had none.
Good said the suspect threatened to shoot him and shot inside the car at him two or three times from a semi-automatic pistol.
Mullins said the second suspect, Deidrick Hawkins, was previously arrested.
