NATCHEZ — A Jonesville man was arrested just before 4 a.m. Sunday for hitting a police officer in the face at Dimples Lounge, Natchez Police Chief Mike Mullins said.
Natchez Police Department officers were dispatched to the bar on 324 Main St., after the manager called for assistance.
The manager wanted officers to remove John William Goeggle III, 30, 104 Loop Road, who was apparently causing a disturbance, Mullins said.
The suspect refused to leave when officers arrived. Goeggle then reportedly struck one of the officers in the face as the officer was attempting to arrest him.
Goeggle was booked at 3:50 a.m. at the city jail on charges of disorderly conduct and felony simple assault of a law enforcement officer.
His bond was set at $704.
