MEADVILLE — Just when it all looked lost for the Cathedral Green Wave, Austin Walker breathed some life back into the team, and helped lead them to a big district win over Franklin County.
Walker scored a goal in the final 30 seconds of regulation to tie the score at 1-1, and Cathedral went onto defeat the Bulldogs in a penalty kick shootout 3-2.
Cavin Skidmore, Nolan Vaughan and Dylan Sandidge scored for the Green Wave in the shootout.
Cathedral improved its record to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in district play with the victory.

The Cathedral girls also came back from a second-half deficit to tie the score late, but their penalty kick shootout wasn’t as successful as they boys.
Franklin County won the penalty shootout 2-1.
Cathedral was down 2-0 at halftime, but came back to tie the score in the second half thanks to goals by Maddie Kirkwood and Lily Hamezopolous.
However, the goal-scoring touch deserted the Lady Wave in the shootout, as Taylor White was the only Cathedral player to ripple the net in five chances.
Cathedral fell to 2-2 overall and 1-1 in district.
