NATCHEZ — A man who allegedly admitted at a crime scene to killing and wounding two victims in July was indicted Wednesday by a grand jury for murder and aggravated assault.
Larry Glene Watkins, 20, 1400 Lafayette St., received no bond with his indictment.
Watkins allegedly confessed to murdering Benjamin Hargrave, 21, and wounding Curshala Pernell, 19, with a handgun. The incident occurred at 1:38 a.m. July 31 at 1401 Lafayette St.
Police Chief Mike Mullins said in a previous report investigators believe the murder and assault were the result of domestic disputes.
In other court news, Jamon Vantre Williams, 18, 204 Dumas Drive, was indicted by a grand jury for manslaughter Wednesday.
Williams allegedly delivered a fatal strike to John “Body Man” Henderson in September 2009.
Although Williams was 16 years old at the time of the crime, he faced the grand jury as an adult because children older than 13 can be charged as an adult for capital offenses, such as murder.
Adams County Youth Court Judge John Hudson ordered the transfer of Williams to circuit court for manslaughter in August to be tried as an adult after a transfer hearing took place.
