NATCHEZ — A Ferriday correctional officer found himself on the other side of bars Tuesday, when Adams County Metro Narcotics officers arrested him on charges of sale and possession of crack.
Ramon Mistrial Harris, 24, 504 Sycamore St., Vidalia, an employee of Concordia Parish Correctional Facility on Louisiana 15, allegedly sold crack cocaine to Adams County Sheriff’s Office informants from a red Chevrolet sedan. The incident reportedly took place in the Isle of Capri Hotel parking lot.
Mayfield said Harris worked as a correctional officer at Concordia Parish Correctional on Louisiana 15.
Harris was charged with two counts of sale of crack cocaine in a church zone and possession of crack cocaine in a church zone with intent to distribute.
Mayfield said Metro Narcotics officers saw Harris throw a plastic bag of crack rocks out of the car’s window when Harris discovered he was being arrested for sale of the drugs. He was then charged with the additional possession charges.
Harris was released on a $15,000 bond.
