NATCHEZ — Interim County Administrator Charlie Brown passed the torch to Joe Murray Monday, holding the Bible while Murray was sworn in to fill Brown’s longtime position.
“I’m a little anxious, excited. I’m ready to do what I need to do to serve the county,” Murray said.
Brown, who has served as interim county administrator since March, was the first to have the position of county administrator.
“I remember doing this 17 years ago,” Brown said.
Murray said he has not had a chance to get his feet wet yet, but he hopes to pick up tips from Brown by shadowing him while finalizing the budget.
