NATCHEZ — At least one person involved in Monday’s bank robbery is now in police custody.
Natchez Police Chief Mike Mullins said Travis Parker, 51, 1 C Sixth St., has been charged with one count of robbery.
He is detained without bond until arraignment, Mullins said.
Parker was being interviewed at the police station Friday afternoon about the bank robbery and was arrested following the interview, Mullins said.
The arrest is in connection with the Monday afternoon robbery of the U.S. 61 North branch of Britton & Koontz Bank.
Mullins said no money has been recovered at this time, but the investigation is ongoing and more arrests are possible.
Shortly after 3 p.m. a masked subject entered the bank and demanded money from the tellers.
The robber said he had a gun but never showed a weapon, Mullins said. No one was injured in the robbery.
He fled the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. Police believe after leaving the bank the suspect got in a light blue car behind the Adams County Health Department and headed toward the Morgantown area or U.S. 61 North.
Monday’s bank robbery was the first in Natchez since 1991.
