NPD makes assault, arson arrests

NATCHEZ — The man accused of shooting his girlfriend in the arm last month at Williams Apartments has been apprehended in Alabama.
Willie Morris Jr., 44, was arrested last Friday in Bessemer, Ala., and charged with aggravated assault and domestic violence, Police Chief Mike Mullins said Monday.
Mullins said Morris, who also goes by the name Clarence “June June” Johnson, will be extradited back to Natchez.
Police also made arrests in separate incidents.
4Natasha Faye Harris, 20, 48 Eagles Nest Road, was arrested Monday in connection to a Jan. 4 vehicle burglary at Copiah-Lincoln Community College. A hunting rifle was reported stolen.
“More arrests are pending and the gun has not been recovered,” Mullins said.
Harris is being held without bond until arraignment.
4Rayshonda Michele Jones, 21, 355B Dumas Drive, was arrested Sunday and charged with arson after allegedly setting fire to a 2010 Toyota Camry outside Riverbreeze Apartments on North Shields Lane. Two other vehicles, a 2002 Ford and a 2000 Chevrolet, were also damaged.
“The Camry was a total loss,” Mullins said, adding the incident was prompted by a personal disagreement between Jones and the Camry’s owner.
Jones is being held without bond until arraignment.
4Broderich Randall Dunbar, 20, 111 Old Horseshoe Lane, and Edward Charles Anderson, 19, Williams Apartments No. 305A, were arrested last Friday and charged with grand larceny in connection to stealing copper coils from air conditioning units at Conrad Anderson Company on D’Evereux Drive. The incident was reported Dec. 28.
Mullins said some copper coils have been recovered. Dunbar and Anderson are being held without bond until arraignment.
