NATCHEZ — The investigation into a Wednesday wreck involving a school bus found “no apparent improper driving” on the part of either driver.
A Durham School Services bus collided with a vehicle driven by a juvenile.
Five students on the bus and the bus driver were sent to local hospitals with minor injuries.
The accident occurred at a red light on Liberty Road near the Seargent S. Prentiss Drive intersection.
Ten-year-old Mikkarius Henderson was sharing a seat with a friend when the accident occurred.
“I didn’t hear anything,” she said.
“I felt a jolt on the bus. I was scared.”
Her brother, Quincy Henderson, 11, said he saw the car coming toward the bus and knew it was about to be involved in an accident.
“I was just sitting back in my seat looking out my window,” he said. “It felt like a shock.”
The traffic report quotes a witness who was driving behind the bus, who said the traffic light had turned green before the bus moved into the intersection.
