NATCHEZ — Fans of the Natchez Festival of Music will get a head start in celebrating the event’s 20th season on Wednesday during a free concert at the Margaret Martin Performing Arts Center.

“Some Enchanted Evening — Broadway Favorites” begins at 7:30 p.m. featuring Jessica Medoff Bunchman, Michael Bunchman and Will Earl Spanheimer, said Mary Lessley, a member of the festival’s board of directors.

Jessica Bunchman and Spanheimer, both accomplished vocalists, perform a variety of music ranging from classical to contemporary. Both Jessica and Michael Bunchman, a concert pianist, have performed at the festival for the past two years. Spanheimer has performed for three years.

“It promises to be a really great and fun evening,” Lessley said.

“They’ll be singing all of the major Broadway hits for the evening.”

A tour of the center led by former Natchez Mayor Tony Byrne will precede the concert at 7 p.m, Lessley said.

The concert will be coupled with a live auction including a portrait session with photographer T.G. McCary, a one-night stay at Monmouth Plantation and four tickets to the LSU-Tulane University football game among other items.

Guests will also have the opportunity to bid on the night’s performers and festival artistic director George Hogan, during an artists’ auction.

“Each of these artists are available to perform for a very special event for an individual or a group,” Lessley said. “(Hogan) is available to be auctioned, plus he has offered himself to be part of a foursome for a golf game.”

Additional prizes will be given away during a raffle drawing. Tickets are $5 each or three for $10.

Among the prizes are a Sunday brunch for two at the Carriage House Restaurant, a one-hour Swedish massage at the Pamper Me Please Salon and 36 holes of golf at the Beau Pré Country Club.

Amid the concert and bidding, guests can renew their memberships with the Natchez Festival of Music Guild and purchase discounted tickets for the 2010 season featuring the opera “Man of La Mancha,” Lessley said.
