NATCHEZ — Bonnie and Clyde are looking for some partners in crime.

Cypress Moon Productions will have an open casting session from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Grand Soleil Casino Resort.

The casting will be for 100 to 150 extras and could lead to some speaking roles in “The Story of Bonnie and Clyde” which is scheduled to film in Natchez in the fall.

“We are looking for people that fit the look of the movie,” Director Tonya Holly said. “In Natchez we will be shooting scenes from west Dallas and using several different locations in (Natchez).”

The casting session is open to anyone over the age of 10. Hopefuls should bring a resume, contact information and a photo of themselves to the casting.

Cypress Moon will have representatives to take a Polariod picture for a fee for anyone who does not have a picture of themselves.

Anyone who cannot attend the casting session should mail a resume and photo to Cypress Moon Studio, Attn: The story of Bonnie and Clyde Casting, 100 Alabama Ave., Sheffield, Ala., 35660.

No speaking roles will be cast for the open casting, but Holly said it is likely people who come to the open casting session will be picked to read for speaking parts at a later date.

“We will start casting very soon for speaking parts, too,” Holly said. “Probably the (following) week after I have a chance to look at the pictures.”

Holly said people who land a speaking role will be notified by phone quickly, but folks who are pegged as scene extra won’t get as much notice.

“Sometimes for extras it can be as late as the day before,” Holly said. “It all depends on the scene we are shooting and sometimes weather and other factors change that schedule around.”

This is not the first casting session Cypress Moon has had in Natchez. In 2007, about 100 people showed up for an open casting session, Holly said.

“Anyone who showed up then, we still have all those pictures on file in our Natchez file,” she said. “Unless they have updated information or changed their look drastically, there is no need to come again.”

“The Story of Bonnie and Clyde” is a historical depiction of the legendary 1930s outlaw couple.

Hilary Duff has been cast to play Bonnie Parker, and Kevin Zegers is set to portray Clyde Barrow.

Holly said pre-production, set construction and set-up, should begin in October with filming to follow around Thanksgiving.

“It’s going to be crazy. It’s going to be nuts,” Holly said. “I’m looking forward to it.”
