NATCHEZ — The people of Natchez are still safe — Bonnie and Clyde aren’t in town yet.
Cypress Moon Productions out of Sheffield, Ala., was set to film “The Story of Bonnie and Clyde” in Natchez for 15 days, but no filming has been done yet.
“We were told they planned to be here around the end of May or beginning of June,” said Natchez Convention and Visitors Bureau Media Liaison Sally Durkin. “We have yet to see them or hear anything further from them.”
Hilary Duff has been cast to play Bonnie Parker and Kevin Zegers is set to play Clyde Barrow.
The movie, set in the 1930s will be a historical depiction of the legendary couple.
Cypress Moon Productions began scouting Natchez in 2007 and was originally interested in using Dunleith as the Texas governor’s home. But after several trips to the area, several other buildings were deemed suitable.
Durkin said she has not been told any exact dates for filming.
“This is the sixth shooting schedule we have been given,” she said.
