NATCHEZ — A late afternoon fire Thursday, left one house on Cloverdale Road destroyed.

Natchez Fire Department Battalion Chief David Williams said crews were still extinguishing hot spots at the residence as late as 7:30 p.m.

“When we got the call, the structure was already fully involved,” Williams said.

Since crews were still at the scene Thursday evening, Williams said full details from the fire were not yet available.

However, neighbors at the scene said the homeowners were out of town when the blaze started.

Williams said no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire has not been determined.
