Ferriday — A stranger reportedly shot a Ferriday man Thursday evening.

Clarence Chasley was reportedly walking his dog on Alabama Avenue Thursday evening when another individual tried to provoke a fight with him, according to Ferriday police authorities.

When Chasley tried to flee the scene, a third individual pulled a gun and fired, the bullet striking Chasley in the arm, authorities said.

The victim reportedly told police he did not know the men involved in the incident, authorities said.
