Churches gearing up for Christmas programs

Natchez — Many Miss-Lou churches are finishing up rehearsal for special Christmas programs for church members and community residents.
Parkway Baptist Chuch in Natchez will present a Christmas musical “Joy, Joy, Joy” at 5 p.m. Sunday in the church sanctuary. The church sanctuary choir and orchestra will present the music. There is no admission or ticket required for the program.
At 7 p.m. on Sunday, the Alcorn State University Concert Choir will present their Christmas concert at St. Mary Basilica. A reception will follow the concert in St. Theresa’s Hall. The public is encouraged to attend.
Trinity Episcopal Church will have special Advent lessons and carols during a 5 p.m. service Sunday.
On Friday, Dec. 12, Zion Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church will have its annual Christmas musical at 7 p.m. under the direction of Ernest “Tony” Fields, minister of music.
Accompanists will be Tony Gordon, Francine Presley, Brandon Mitchell, Braxton Mitchell and Trey Mitchell.
On Sunday, Dec. 14, First Presbyterian Church’s Adult Choir and Alcorn State Univeristy Section Leaders Will present And Glory Shone Around by Larson/Wagner at 10 a.m. worship service. All are welcome.
Beulah Baptist Church will have its Christmas musical at 7 p.m. on Dec. 17.The program will feature Lee Williams of the Spiritual QC’s and George Dean of the Gospel Four Group. For tickets call 601-446-7251 or 601-431-5566. Tickets are $12 and $15 at the door.
