System carrying 90 mph winds approaching Natchez

NATCHEZ — A band of storms carrying 90 mph wind gusts that began moving through Baton Rouge approximately one hour ago may be approaching Adams County.
The National Weather Service informed the Adams County Emergency Management Agency of the storm band.
Area residents are encouraged to seek shelter.
The Adams County Sheriff’s Office is also responding to numerous calls of downed trees and limbs, many on Liberty Road and in the area of U.S. 61 South.
Southwest Mississippi Electric Power Association is reporting that 5,250 customers are without power.
Customers should be prepared to be without power for a minimum of three days.
