Berryhill receives doctor of philosophy degree

Amy Huff Berryhill, daughter of Max and Jane Huff of Ferriday, was awarded a doctor of philosophy degree from the College of Education at Mississippi State University on Dec. 14.
Berryhill is a 1979 graduate of Huntington School in Ferriday. She earned a bachelor of arts degree from Louisiana State University in journalism and history in 1984 and a master of science degree from Mississippi State University in Instructional Technology in 1998. Berryhill began her course of study in instructional systems and workforce development, with a minor in communication in 2001. In her current position as lead IT consultant for the Department of Information Technology Systems at MSU, Berryhill develops documentation for faculty regarding the integration of instructional technology into teaching.
In addition, she teaches a freshmen level communication course and a senior level instructional systems course. Berryhill has presented the findings of her dissertation titled “A Correlational Study of Adoption of Instructional Technology by Higher Education Faculty and their Social Communications Network,” at conferences and to higher education administration.
Berryhill is married to 1976 South Natchez graduate, Ray Berryhill, assistant athletic director of academics at Mississippi State University.
They have two children, 16-year-old Cody and 12-year-old Carolina. They reside in Starkville.
