Huntington hardly allowed Silliman to get off a shot in the third quarter and forced numerous turnovers.

The turnovers led to quick and easy baskets for the Lady Hounds, who outscored Silliman 23-2 in the quarter to take a 33-13 lead after three.

“We weren’t blocking out and getting rebounds in the zone defense (Huntington ran in the first half),” Lady Hounds coach Penny Moak said. “We did a much better job of blocking out in the man defense. We seem to be more intense in the man defense and not as laid back.”

Emilee Johns led the way for Huntington with 14 points while Phyllicia Woods had nine and Julia Corbett had six for the Lady Hounds.
