Jefferson County hosts basketball tournament

The Jefferson County Tigers are hosting a full day of basketball action Saturday.
The Jefferson County High Basketball Classic tips off the 2007-2008 season with a slate of eight games that begin at 9:30 a.m. and conclude at 9:15 p.m.
Wilkinson County and Jefferson County boys and girls basketball teams will be participating in the tournament, as well as some of the top teams from across the state of Mississippi.
Two of the state’s top three high school girls basketball teams will match up in the tourney.
Murrah and South Pike — ranked Nos. 1 and 3 in The Clarion-Ledger Super 10 will meet at 3:30 in the marquee event of the classic. The Murrah and South Pike boys will play each other at 5 p.m.
Other games include Wilkinson County vs. Hinds in boys and girls, Amite County vs. Jim Hill boys and girls and host Jefferson Count vs. Jackson, La. boys and girls.
