A Natchez man was killed Sunday morning in a one-car accident on U.S. 84.
Lance Carpenter, 53, was driving east in Franklin County near Clear Springs Road just before noon when the accident occurred, Highway Patrol Sgt. Rusty Boyd said.
“He ran off the right edge of the roadway, overcorrected and lost control,” Boyd said. “He ran into the median, rolling over several times. The driver was ejected.”
Carpenter, 103 Wisteria Lane, was not wearing a seat belt, Boyd said.
He was transported to Franklin County Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Carpenter was driving a 1999 Saturn.
Carpenter was a maintenance electrician at Dynasteel Corporation.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel. Survivors include his children, Dawne Carpenter, Jacob Hester, Amanda Stephens and Margaret Carpenter.
