Two people were transported to local hospitals Monday night after separate shootings that occurred approximately an hour-and-a-half apart.
As of 10 p.m., a suspect had reported to the Natchez Police Department, but no charges had been filed.
The first shooting occurred at 5:50 p.m. at Holiday Apartments on Old Washington Road. A 15-year-old male was standing in front of an apartment building when he was shot twice, in the hand and knee, Police Chief Mike Mullins said.
The building was also struck by a bullet in the shooting.
The victim was transported to Natchez Regional Medical Center.
At 7:21 p.m. another shooting was reported on Jackson Street, off of Martin Luther King Jr. Street.
Another teenage boy was hit in the thigh and transported to Natchez Community Hospital. The teen was walking outside on the street when he was shot.
Both shootings involved a handgun.
Mullins said he had no evidence that the two shootings were connected, but said it was a possibility.
Police had a positive identification from the first shooting, Mullins said.
The suspect who came to NPD Tuesday night was a juvenile. Mullins would not release his name, or the names of the victims.
The shootings make three in the city limits since Saturday morning. A 23-year-old woman was reportedly accidentally shot after a concert at the Convention Center early Saturday.
