The three will go at it again Saturday at the state meet at Jackson Prep.

&uot;We had no idea,&uot; Tensas head coach Chris Jacobs said. &uot;We had the heat sheets for all the times they turned in. Their times were slower. We finished second, but us and Huntington really thought we had a good shot at first and second. Instead, we were fighting for second and third. We did what we thought we could do. They improved some times and look good going into state.&uot;

Mary Miller Ratcliff posted a win in the 1,600 as one of two wins for the Lady Chiefs. Ratcliff posted a time of 6:08, and the mile relay team of Aubrey McEacharn, Ratcliff, Mary Elizabeth Crigler and Caity Rogers won it in 4:30.

Other individual results were Whitney Alford in third in the high jump at 5-10, Crigler in second in the 400 at 1:06.2 with Rogers third in 1:06.9, Sadie Henderson was third in the 100 hurdles in 18.05 seconds and McEacharn was third in the 800 at 2:44.

&uot;Jessie dropped her time a little bit,&uot; Huntington head coach Penny Moak said. &uot;The girl that was seeded No. 1 that I thought was going to beat her, she tripped and didn’t even place. Overall, I thought we finished better than I thought we would. Our relays, I didn’t think we would get in the top four. Katie Gray did better in the two-mile and mile today.&uot;
