Services for Barbara Jean Hoover Sturdivant, 69, of Natchez, who died Monday, Aug. 27, 2001, at Professional Rehabilitation Hospital in Ferriday, La., will be at 11 a.m. today at Laird Funeral Home’s Union Street Chapel with the Revs. Bernard Waites and Marlin Howard officiating.
Burial will be in the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Mrs. Sturdivant was born Oct. 27, 1931, in Crossett, Ark., the daughter of George Terry and Lucille Leona Jones Hoover.
She was a member of the Church of Christ and Order of Eastern Star. She lived and attended North Heights School in Texarkana, Ark., and was a graduate of Natchez High School Class of 1949.
Mrs. Sturdivant was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Theresa Ann Hoover Fraser.
Survivors include her husband, Raymond Sturdivant Sr. of Natchez; four children and their spouses, Barbara Joan Sturdivant David and Jerry David of Natchez, Raymond Sturdivant Jr. and Rebecca Ann Trevino Sturdivant of Baton Rouge, La., William Terry &uot;Chip&uot; Sturdivant and Sharon Patrick Sturdivant of Natchez; five grandchildren, Andrew Joseph David and Joanna Leigh David of Natchez, Mary Rebecca Sturdivant, Sarah Catherine Sturdivant and Margaret Rose Sturdivant, all of Baton Rouge; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jack Marlin Fraser Jr., Joel Hoover Fraser, Patrick Kim Fraser, Kenneth Cavin, Don Cavin, Chris Sturdivant, James Johnson, Dean Howard and William Howard.
The family requests memorials be made to a charity of choice.
Morris LeGette Doughty
Nov. 11, 1915 – Aug. 28, 2001
Memorial services for Morris LeGette Doughty, 85, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2001, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 3 p.m. today at Trinity Episcopal Church with the Revs. Zabron A. Davis III and Kyle V. Bennett officiating.
Private family burial service will be at a late date under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation is from 1:30 p.m. until service time today at the church.
Mr. Doughty was born Nov. 11, 1915, in Natchez, the son of Brunson Edwin and Allie Irma LeGette Doughty.
He was a life long resident of Natchez, served as a pilot in the U.S. Air Force in World War II, and served 25 years as a public official in Adams County. He was a charter member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce of Natchez and the Kiwanis Club of Natchez and was a member of The Royal Order of Jesters.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Wheeler Doughty of Natchez; one daughter, Caroline Wheeler Doughty of Natchez; four grandchildren, Dody Hall Bennett of Pass Christian, Tracy Hall Gammon of Tampa, Fla., Bradford Darius Hall of Huntsville, Ala.; and Stratton Hall Nelson of Natchez; six great-grandchildren, Caroline Kristen Bennett, Carrie LeGette Gammon, Kate Noble Wheeler Hall, William Conner Gammon, Elizabeth Michael Bennett and Sarah Wheldon Hall; and one brother, Walter Alexander Doughty of Natchez.
Honorary pallbearers will be James B. Nutter, Henry Credit, Aaron Mose Parker and the Honorable David C. Bramlette III.
The family requests memorials be made to Trinity Episcopal Church.

Funeral arrangements for Mr. Charles C. Arbuthnot Jr., 54, of New Orleans, formerly of Woodville, who died Sunday, Aug. 26, 2001, at Ochsner Hospital in New Orleans, are incomplete at Craft Funeral Home of McComb.
Jagger Austin Collins
Graveside services for infant Jagger Austin Collins, who died on Monday, August 27, 2001, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, at Natchez City Cemetery with Father Mike O’Brien officiating.
Burial will follow under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Dale Guilliams.
He is survived by his father, Samuel A. Collins of Natchez; his mother, Chastity Tillman of Natchez; two brothers, Zachary and Dylan Collins; grandparents, Mary Ann Guilliams, and James and Frieda Eggleston, all of Natchez; and great-grandparents, Annie and Harvey Collins and Thomas and Mabel Ellington, all of Natchez.
