Matthew Tolbert broke open a close game by scoring three touchdowns to lead Centreville to a 29-7 win over Amite School Center Friday night.
Centreville scored in the first quarter on a 35-yard return of a blocked put by Rob Robertson. Ben Havard added the extra point.
That would be the only score by either team in the first half as both teams played good defense.
Tolbert then broke the game open with touchdown runs of 20, 37 and 14 yards, all in the third quarter.
Havard made two extra points and Justin Simpson ran in for the two-point conversion after Tolbert’s third touchdown.
Tolbert had 16 carries for 170 yards and the three touchdowns.
ASC scored its only points of the game on a 35-yard run by Jim Walsh in the fourth quarter. Max Lawson converted on the extra point.
Centreville improved to 6-3 overall and 2-0 in MPSA District 4-AAA and will host Silliman next Friday.
