It seems no one cares whether or not the truth is being told, just as long as it doesn't interfere with the daily process.

Several employers I know have been known to stick their heads in the sand when employees expose problems that may cause extra effort to fix.

Government employees tend to turn their heads when an injustice is done, so they don't have to report it.

Why?

Because reporting an injustice, especially when it was committed by a superior, can cause termination, at most, and a living hell for the rest of your employ, at least.

In the case of these three DeSoto county employees, the law is not protecting them from "doing the right thing," so it is sending a message loud and clear... "Don't dare do the right thing, or you will be permanently screwed!"

Way to go, judge! I wonder if ole Dicky Scruggs had anything to gain from this decision, or was it another lawyer who hasn't been caught yet?

All over the media, one hears reports that we are raising a generation of unconscious children. Well, duh! This is why! If there is no benefit to doing the right thing, then why do it?

I have been told by my children that kids are confused today about what is "right" and what is "wrong." Can you blame them? This is what they are feeling:

1) It's not ok to pray in schools, so prayer must not be something we need.

2) It's not ok to say "Merry Christmas" anymore, so Jesus must not be as important as He used to be.

3)It is not ok to have the Ten Commandments displayed in a public place... so why follow them if we are ashamed of them?

4) If we find $20 on the ground, just put it in your pocket and shut up, because if you turn it in to the police, they will just do the same.

5) And Pl-e-e-a-a-s-s-e.. do not file a law suit against anyone with any power, because all they have to do is pay the judge, and right or wrong, your case is lost!

And believe it, or stick your head in the sand, we have done this to our children by allowing those who do not want to live by the rules to change them.

ScarletO - Right on!!! I am new to this forum and have learned over the past few weeks that these commentators just who sit on the sidelines and criticize everyone in the public eye are uneducated windbags who hide behind their pen names!

Greenfields, lambchop, and racehorse --- Do you know how you sound to the people who really know what is going on behind the scenes?

THE REAL RECIPE:
1. Take one part Jerry Lyles, who worked for Binkey for a long, long time, and was paid nicely.
2. Then, sprinkle in a little Mike Lazarus (Who is supposedly the one who turned in Lyles to the DA! a few years ago)
3. Mix slowly and bring to a boil these two ingredients.
When all of the liquid has evaporated, you find a pot of Pintards, who have been manipulating the puppets of our community for many years. Let's see who are next county attorney will be and THAT will answer a lot of questions!!

I heard a comment today that made me want to get sick ---"The money flowed Monday night." Those of you who know what that means should be sick that you fell for the same ole "good ole boy" propaganda that has been dominating politics in Natchez for many years.

It saddens me that ANYONE in this day and age would allow themselves and their precious VOTE to be "bought". If one does not have respect for themselves, no one else will have respect for them. And if you think these politicians will actually follow through with all of the promises they have made.... FORGET IT - IT WON'T HAPPEN.

You have just allowed the GOOD OLE BOY system to continue. You should be really proud of yourselves, you idiots!!!!!

FYI - Scuttle around town is that Mr. Watts left the Democrat reporter standing outside in the cold for hours while she was trying to get a comment from him about the election. When Joe Joe went over to Henry's house to congratulate him on his win, Henry let Joe Joe in the house, and left the reporter standing outside, instead of inviting them both inside. Is this what we can expect? If so, I am moving!!!

If anyone who didn't get out today and vote utters one complaint, you should be ashamed! Adams County lost out on one of the BEST candidates who actually wanted to go to work for the citizens of District Two. Republican or Democrat, Black or White, rich or poor... if you complain, and you didn't get out and vote, please don't!

scarletto - thank you! Great points. Yes, we all have our OPINION. But to make it fair, let's all base our opinions upon facts.

On Do you think the Adams County Board of Supervisors will continue to have a frequent 3-2 vote in the next four years?

You know what would be really, really nice? Is for everyone, including the supporters of different candidates, to realize the true issues here. If each commentator would get in your car and drive 60 miles to the east, 60 miles to the south, 60 miles to the north, and west, one would find economic growth in each county/parish. It is true that no one person is going to make or break Adams County. However, with a positive attitude and a willingness to work together and even compromise, when needed, Adams County could join the rest of the world by inviting and making it attractive for industries of ALL sizes. Otherwise, the commentators who get online every day and comment about every story, every leader, every situation, in a negative way, are going to have a whole lot to talk about!

It amazes me to see such uninformed responses on a public forum. One would think that each commentator would look up the facts before making general statements that could be misconstrued, or be factually incorrect. Please explain what you mean by your generalizations (lambchop and sillywilly). I am curious as to what facts you have that would make you think that any supervisors ALWAYS VOTE WHAT IS BEST FOR THEMSELVES... Or are you here to just see yourself in print, but not really provide any real substance to your comments?

Well, well... what an attitude nursediane! Negative, Negative, Negative. This is the very reason we need new leadership in Natchez. Joe never claimed to be a magician. He has just proven over the past 25 years dealing with all types of people, from all socio-economic levels, races, genders, and religious beliefs that "fighting" and negative behavior never wins in any situation! Foolish promises, he has never made. Postive statements for the future... yes! Sounds to me like Watts supporters are grasping at straws to pull out a victory by making false and negative accusations. Sad, so sad.
