Change only happens when "we, the people" are united. Maybe you are the person to get the people motivated. Start a revolution of ideas. Make the people of Natchez realize that their government is supposed to be doing what's best for the people, not just sitting around in a commitee earning a paycheck. Then, maybe it'll grow to a statewide movement and on to a national movement.

Of course, if people quit paying for crappy service from crappy companies.... they go out of business. If everyone would shut their service off for a few months.... they'd go under and we'd get a better cable service in here. Take Wal-Mart, for example, everyone hates them, but does that stop them from shopping their??? NO! Take a stand for what you believe in people!

Yes, it's free. DSL should be fine to use it. Try it out before you drop your cable service. And no, it's not channels, you look up the tv shows you like and you can subscribe to them (for free) to get updates on when new episodes are posted. I watch Heroes, Chuck, The Office, 30 Rock, Ghosthunters, etc....

Just look for what you already watch to see if it's there.

Yes, you do have to have compatible equipment, but that's why we are in the financial mess we are in.... because everybody had to have the biggest and best new gadget, right? Also, Hulu.com is able to do this for free because of individual target marketing. When you sign up for an account, they ask you those questions about your life and family.... Well, that is so that they may target their commercials specifically to YOU! :)

I think it is ingenious!!!

On Rate increase due to rising operation costs

People! Stop paying these crooks who keep jacking your prices up for channels you don't watch. If you have high speed internet, you can get a HULU.COM account for FREE and watch all your favorite shows when you want instead of when you are told to. And you can hook up your computer to your TV and watch on it instead of on your monitor. It's just like TV with half the commercial interruptions and NO BILL!!!!

Wow. I actually opened this up thinking it might actually be talking about that second rate flea market they had last month. Was that the biggest waste of money or what?

On Convention center presentation deemed misleading

It is a blessing that our local paper is willing and sees the benefit of publishing articles like this one. Thank you, Del for these words. And thank you, Natchez Democrat, for having the courage to publish this in these uncertain times.

On Relationships can be hard, but payoff is worth the work

I agree, Mucasplug! It would have been nice to know about this before it was too late. It seems that the Democrat doesn't ever report good things happening in the community until they are over, though...

On County organization gives away trees

It botheres me when the first response someone has is to immediately call others idiots. If people paid attention to other state's 'local' news as well, then you would know that there have been state's in the north that have, in recent, years been taking land by 'eminent domain' in order to give it to land developers to 'better' the city with a strip mall. It would not surprise me to find out that the crooked politicians in the Adams co. area were trying something stupid like this. Instead of calling your fellow citizens names, maybe you should form an action group with them and get to the bottom of this issue. No changes in politics (through history) have been made without people that STAND UP for their rights and the riights of others!

On Residents may be losing land to road

Wow. You hit the nail on the head, dixiecrat.

I've lived in Natchez for 32 years and I've never seen anything worthwhile come from the city's "leaders."

On Which local project is most likely to come to fruition in 2009?
