Wouldn't it be more helpful and meaningful to the community, to say nothing of being "christian" if this "church" and these 78 people submitted a letter decrying the rampant drug abuse, teenage pregnancy, child abuse, domestic violence, high school drop-out rate, and alcoholism in the Natchez region?
Priorities anyone?
Nothing like flailing at windmills to attack a gossipy article about a bunch of gay men in Natchez.

Good article Ben.
Kinkos can make foam-core posters of various Natchez highlights in virtually any size--cheaply. The Center can place the posters in street windows and along corridors. With all that street-side glass those windows should be thought of as free billboards for Natchez’s houses and sites. Hey Garden Clubs are you listening!?!?
“Hospitality bags” are expense and labor intensive. However, in a contract with any convention using the center, there could be a clause that the organization has to include one Natchez-related flyer or brochure in the bag.
As for the "good smelling" stuff, isn't there a coffee concession in the center? No reason why they can't make apple pies during business hours--they sure smell good and entice purchases. (Think to yourself why do we all feel so drawn to Cinnabon at a mall?)

Another great column Ben.
The problem, quite simply, is the vast majority of municipal, county, state, and federal politicians are out there advocating for their own "bridge to no where".
In addition, the public thinks THEY deserve their bridge to no where, but no one else deserves one too.
I forgot who said it, but we are indeed a nation of whiners.

Oh Ben!! I didn't know this 'til just reading your column. Burl hadn't passed on the sad news! I am so sorry. Please tell Amelia how sorry and sad I am. He was a great little friend. I wish I could be with you all.

Oh Ben, napping is a true art in the North. I come from a long line of nappers. My Dad could drop off in the blink of an eye. In between his office hours he could snore a cord of wood.
For me, the 20 minute power nap is just the ticket.
Happy napping. Hugs to Amelia and Gibson.
