Prentiss Club was a gentlemen's club back in the day. Most of us under age 60 know of it as the former home of the Pearl Street Cellar.

Some people just have no understanding if something doesn't affect them and it is a rude wake up call when it does.

As to revamping the curbs and sidewalks I am all for it. Some of the steps downtown are difficult to manage for me and I am healthy but just short. It is dangerous for those with disabilities to be forced to share the streets with cars and trucks due to the sad state our sidewalks are in.

I got one on Friday night on my cell phone about 7:30. I would love to know how they are getting my cell number since I keep up my registration on the "do not call list".

Welcometothejungle, when they come in they don't just go to the camp. They shop here for food, sporting good items, gas, the wives shop in our downtown stores and the mall, and they also go out to the nightclubs. I know when I was working downtown in one of the clubs he tipped all the workers anywhere from $25-$100 at Thanksgiving.

Glad to see that the Democrat looked into those suspicious posts the other day. Most of us had already figured it out.

Randy's Freeman's biggest contributor, Vance Breaux, has a large and very nice hunting camp within the county where he entertains friends, family and clients. He brings a lot of money into this town when he brings these people in during the hunting season. As anyone who lives in the remote areas of the county knows extra patrols in those areas is greatly appreciated due to all the thefts that have become so common. That may be at least one of the reasons he is backing Randy Freeman for sheriff.

I agree this family is together and not just parked in front of a TV eating junk. From what I read the parents consider their children in their decisions and would not be out riding in a snowstorm or other dangerous conditions.

Some of the comments seem to reflect the ideas of people who have never crossed the county line. There is a great big world out there and these kids are getting an education and experiences far more valuable than many have had the pleasure of having. Ride on!

Well the figures still haven't changed my vote, I am still in favor of Randy Freeman. To date he is the ONLY candidate that has sent someone by my house to ask for my vote and they were greeted by his sign which was already in my yard.

I know that of all the candidates, if elected, Randy will still be Randy and not some egotistical polititian who doesn't have the time of day for my concerns because I am just an ordinary citizen and not a campaign contributor with deep pockets. No Randy isn't in all the pictures in the paper but he is out there working for the citizens of Adams County which makes me feel a lot safer.

When I got paddled at school it was a walk in the park compared to the spanking I got at home, not to mention the shame of having to face my Grandmother eventually. She could make you feel lower than an earthworm's belly without ever raising her voice or hand.

Did I grow up with my psyche warped due to being paddled at school or spanked at home?
No, I grew up to be a productive citizen of the community who has worked since age 15, I have never been in trouble with the law and I know how to respect others as well as myself.

I used to work in the school system and can agree that these kids as early as age 3-4 will cuss and spit at you and tell you that you can't do anything about it. They also threaten their parent's that they will call DHS if they touch them.

Is paddling needed for every child? No, but in some cases it is the perfect punishment to get their attention.

Jen, sorry but I have headed down for the "Cruisin the Coast" and won't make it. I am glad to see this happening in the Miss-Lou and wish ya'll some great weather and a great turnout.

Living, if you had said more than 3 words many wouldn't have taken offense. Most of the blessings I have been to the prayers aren't just for the bikes to be free of problems, but also for the protection and safety of the riders throughout the riding season.

As to blessing the pets, they are God's creatures too and companions for many of us. I know my dog is there for me day and night and happy to see me when no one else is. Pets show us unconditional love and devotion, so blessing them is just another way of returning that as I see it.
