Franklin County High School graduate Dane Hodges recently signed a soccer scholarship to attend Southwest Mississippi Community College. Pictured from left are his mother Kathy Hodges, Dane, his father Randall Hodges and standing SWCC soccer coach David Strother. Strother is a former Franklin County soccer standout. “He’s going to be looked at in the forward position for us, and quite possibly a little midfield too,” Strother said. “We feel good about him.” Hodges is the fourth Franklin County senior to sign a soccer scholarship. Josh Dixon, Ryan Ratcliff and Austin McCormick inked deals with Co-Lin during the winter. “I think it’s great for him and our program,” said Franklin County boys’ soccer coach Brad Mullins. “He can play several positions. He really shines at midfield.” The Bulldogs went 17-6, reaching the second round of the state playoffs. They were Region 7-3A runner’s up. A 4-year starter at FCHS, Hodges scored nine goals last season and had eleven assists.
