MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. (AP) — Carl Volny rushed for 101 yards and two touchdowns as Central Michigan defeated Alcorn State 48-0 Saturday.

After beating Michigan State with a last-second field goal last week, the Chippewas (2-1) easily routed the Braves (0-2)

Volny scored on 5- and 2-yard runs in the third quarter. Quarterback Dan LeFevour completed 10-of-12 passes for 92 yards and rushed for two touchdowns.

Antonio Brown scored on a 55-yard punt return, and Tim Phillips added a 2-yard touchdown run. Andrew Aguila contributed two field goals.

Central Michigan led 34-0 at halftime and 48-0 after the third quarter before cruising to the victory on the fourth quarter.

The Chippewa defense held Alcorn State to just 36 yards rushing. Braves quarterback Tim Buckley was 7 of 16 for 89 yards, including a 43-yard pass to Anton DeJarnett.

Alcorn State begins SWAC play next week when the Braves travel to Baton Rouge to play Southern.

Antonio Brown signed with Alcorn State out of high school. He had problems getting eligible, just think what he could do if he was with the Braves
