Man charged with molesting a child

NATCHEZ — An Adams County man was arrested on charges he inappropriately touched a child.
Harvey C. Williams, 41, 523 Greenfield Road, was charged Friday with molesting — touching a child.
The 12-year-old female victim was reportedly staying the night with Williams’ step-daughter when she awakened to the sound of someone going through her purse, ACSO Investigator Maj. Ricky Steven said.
The victim reported she felt someone feeling under her shirt and pants, Stevens said.
Because her mother was out of town, the victim called a friend of her mother to pick her up, Stevens said.
Williams was later identified as the alleged perpetrator of the crime, Stevens said.
Williams was detained on a $25,000 bond, which was set Monday.
