Scouting was great experience
Published Wednesday, June 10, 2009
I would like to thank everyone I’ve worked with during my 35 years of service to the Boy Scouts of America.
I have enjoyed working with your children to the best of my ability. I took care of them as they were my own children.
I was assistant Scout Master for 15 years prior to becoming Scout Master for 20 years. Since being Scout Master, I included other field trips that were meaningful and exposed our children to everything educational.
But it was Scout Masters Booker T. Alexander and John Wesley — who died during their tenure in the Claiborne County schools — who taught me everything they knew about scouting. My time is almost up as well. I thank you for the trust, confidence, respect and love you showed me.

Yes the Boy Scouts of America is a wonderful organization. The boys learn valuble life lessons that help them to become leaders of our community. I support and appreciate all B.S.A Leaders and the future leaders of America. To all reading, both my sons participated in the B.S.A. with Daniel earning his Eagle which I must say was right up there with graduating High School. Matthew my youngest was to our worst regret & nightmare or terror killed before he made rank of Eagle. We often feel that Matthew is soaring with the Eagles even as I write this. I pray that this valuble organization will continue as my sons learned so much from the Boy Scouts of America.
