Shooting victim may be a suspect
Published Saturday, July 18, 2009
NATCHEZ — In a bizarre twist, a shooting victim has now become a shooting suspect.
Tremaine Perry, 27, 58 Eagles Nest Road, was found shot in the jaw and back in a church parking lot on Lower Woodville Road Wednesday evening.
But police aren’t sure how we was shot.
Natchez Police Sgt. Craig Godbold said police officials were responding to an attempted robbery call on Lower Woodville Road when they found Perry.
A John R. Junkin Drive convenience store clerk reported that while he was trying to enter his Lower Woodville Road home, three or four males with dark bandannas on their faces shot four or five times at the man.
The clerk was able to enter his residence and lock the door, but the door was kicked down and one shot was fired into the house.
The clerk was not injured, and the suspects left soon after, running down Lower Woodville Road.
Following a trail of blood from the house, police found Perry lying in the church parking lot.
“We’re not sure who shot him,” Godbold said.
Godbold and Police Chief Mike Mullins are investigating Perry as one of the suspects of the shooting at the store clerk’s house.
The police department is also investigating the shooting of Perry, who was released from the Mississippi Department of Corrections Wednesday morning.
“He got out of jail at 8 a.m. Wednesday and by midnight, he’s on his way to the hospital with bullet holes,” Godbold said.
Perry had just finished serving three years of a seven-year drug sentence and was on probation.
He was transported to the University Medical Center in Jackson and is expected to fully recover from his injuries, Godbold said.

More medical expenses which will be paid for by, you guessed it, the tax payers.

This is what happens when they get a low bail and hit the streets too soon or get a "get out of jail" card too soon.
Our judges in Adams County need to be replaced asap.

That's ok NtxMom55. Haven't you heard. The president is going to fix that problem with free health care.
Then the only ones to get decent health care will be the pets going to the vet.
