Concordia Americans defeat Mangham

MONROE, La. — The Concordia Parish Americans 11-year-olds shut out Mangham 20-0 Sunday night in Monroe, La., during the District Tournament.

The game was called after three innings, advancing the Americans to the No. 2 seed spot.

The Americans scored 12 runs on six hits in the first inning, with a single and a grand slam home run by Tyler Cothen.

The second inning saw three runs on two hits and the third inning five runs on five hits.

Cole Cangemi and Jake Barlow combined for a no-hitter.

The Americans will face Caldwell tonight at 6 p.m. in Monroe in the double elimination bracket in the tournament.

The Americans are currently 2-1, with their lone defeat at the hands of No. 1-seeded Monroe in the opening game of the tournament.
