FJHS student named to achievement list

FERRIDAY — The United States Achievement Academy announced recently that Sankari Washington from Ferriday has been recognized by the United States Achievement Academy forexcellence in leadership.
The academy recognizes fewer than 10 percent of all American high school students.
Washington, who attends Ferriday Junior High School, was nominated for this honor by Delores Thomas, counselor at the school. She will appear in the academy’s official yearbook.
Washington is the daughter of Stacy and Stephanie Murphy of Ferriday and the granddaughter of Evelyn Washington of Ferriday and Dr. and Mrs. Henry Murphy of Natchez.
